Craig gymnasts tumble to victory

On January 9, 2018, the Cougars started the year off strong with a victory over Parker. Craig won with 121.75 points to Parker’s 108.5.
Phoebe Werner won the All Around, followed by Gracie Hill in third, and Jayden Egger in fourth. Phoebe Werner won with a score of 31.150, 1.5 points higher than second place, Carson Richards from Parker.
The meet started out with Craig scoring 1-3 in the vault. 1-3 was led by Phoebe Werner with 8.600 points, followed by Ariyana Stalsberg and Gracie Hill.
Following vault, the Cougars tallied first, second and fifth. Ariyana Stalsberg led the team with 7.9 points.
The Cougars stay steady on the balance beam with a 1-2-4 placing lead by Gracie Hill and Alexis Andrews.
To finish off the meet, the team swept the first four spots. Ariyana Stalsberg led the team with a 9.0 on the floor, followed by Alexis Andrews (8.35), Phoebe Werner (7.95), and Gracie Hill (7.55).
“We did well on all the events,” said Coach Welch.
The team is improving steadily every meet and is very young, with Alexis Andrews being the only senior. The season ends at the end of February.
